Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to prepare a questionnaire to clarify the "sense of whereabouts" of the elderly and to grasp the actual condition of "elderly people using the admission facilities". The method examined the definition and constituent elements of "sense of whereabouts" in the former research on whereabouts and opinions from experts. As a result, a questionnaire on whereabouts of five places (categories) and 25 items with content validity was created. As for grasping the actual condition, we conducted an interview with 18 elderly people in the facility using the questionnaire on whereabouts feeling. As to the actual situation, as a result of analyzing by comparing the total score, category, high and low group of the subjects to be surveyed, the "sense of whereabouts" of the entrance facility users is generally high in the physical place of presence, we find that there is a pattern such as a tendency to be low, an all high score type, an all low score type, and an intermediate type. Furthermore, it becames clear that there is a difference in each individual. As a result, we confirm that the questionnaire created in this research can be used as a questionnaire to measure "feeling of whereabouts" of elderly people.
