Description

Alpine butterflies, Erebia ligea takanonis and Erebia niphonica, are distributed on the higher altitude areas in the Kiso Mts, central Honshu, Japan. This paper aims to examine the distribution and habitats of these two Erebia butterflies. Geographical variation of Erebia niphonica in the mountains is also discussed using the method of statistical analysis.
