Abstract

During successive breeding of wild-caught larvae of Sasakia charonda, an aberrant blue form emerged at the F2 generation. Repeated intra-generational crossings created a pure blue line at the F5 generation. Crossing experiments between blues and normals confirmed Mendelian recessive transmission of the blue allele.
