Description
<p>ALS patients gradually become paralyzed in motor nerves and markedly limit their motor function. ALS patients communicate using residual functions.The communication tools include eye gaze input and scan input method using contact switches etc. Gaze input is a method of Capture Capture characters. Compared to communication using a conventional transparent dial, it is possible to reduce the burden on caregivers. In the scan input method using the contact switch, characters are determined by operating the switch when the target character is selected. In recent years, studies on character input combining gaze input and contact switch manipulation are being conducted. Assigned to the operation of the switch are character determination and deletion functions, and the like. Therefore, when combining switches, it is necessary to consider what functions are assigned. Therefore, in this study, we examined character input by gaze input and switch operation.</p>
