Description

In this study, for the purpose of investigating influence of sleep duration on next whole day's physical function, focusing on "perception function", "thought function", "working memory function" and "motility function" after wake-up on two different sleep conditions (six hours (long sleep) and three hours (short sleep)) , we conducted one experiment to evaluate each function. Six healthy male subjects participated in this experiment. They were asked to do each work corresponding respective four functions. During this experiment, we monitored EEG for evaluating arousal level. And we also recorded subjective rating about mental work strain and calculated work performances regarding each work. Simultaneously, body temperature and heart rate were measured for checking changes in biological rhythm. The results showed that perception function, thought function, and working memory function were declined in case of short sleep condition. There were no remarkable changes in the biological rhythm between long and short sleep conditions.
