Description

Non-sebaceous lymphadenoma (NSL) has been classified as an independent benign tumor from lymphadenomas since 2005 in the WHO pathological classification of salivary gland tumors. We herewith report two patients with NSL, a male aged 54 years and a female aged 61 years with a parotid mass for several months. Their tumors were well-defined and slightly hard in the lower part of the parotid gland and presented without pain or facial paralysis. Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) revealed abundant small lymphocytes without heterocytes; the findings obtained by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were low intensity masses in T1 weighted images and low with irregular high intensity masses in T2 weighted images. These findings most likely suggested Warthin's tumor but were not typical. The patients underwent superficial parotidectomy, since we could not exclude Warthin's tumor and also malignant lymphoma.<br>NSL is one of the benign parotid tumors that should be considered before surgery based on the above-mentioned findings obtained from these two cases and previous reports.
