Description
Recently, the world has many natural disasters such as earthquake, flood, tsunami and so on. It is necessary to secure a lifeline for rebuilt up by recovery system quickly after the disaster. For these subjects, a new type of emergency bridge with scissor structure was suggested. In this paper, in order to design the scissor type of emergency bridge, the basic mechanical properties of scissor structure were cleared up, and we developed design theory based on equilibrium equations. The proposal design method was applied to an experimental bridge, and the consistency with experimental results was confirmed by a loading test. We realize that the present method is applicable to design the scissor type of quick construction bridge.
