抄録

オーストラリア東部に生育するヒエ属植物の生息状況について,2008年3月に現地調査を実施した.本調査において,4種の1年生在来種,E.dietrichiana,E.inundata,E.telmatophila,およびE.turneriana,および3種の外来種,E.colona,E.crus-galli,およびE.polystachya,を観察した.在来種は互いに生息地を異にしており,E.dietrichianaは常時冠水状態にある沼地,E.inundataは内陸の氾濫平原,E.telmatophilaは小川の中およびその近く,E.turnerianaは内陸の水路にそれぞれ自生していた.一方,外来種の生息環境は在来種のそれと大きく重複しており,特に,大きな生育力によって沼地や氾濫河川に独占的な単一集団を形成する多年生種E.polystachya,および幅広い水分条件に適応する潜在能力の高いE.crus-galliにおいて顕著であった.侵略的な外来種は特に同属の在来種に対して深刻な脅威を与え続けるであろう.
