Abstract

This study intended to examine the grouting effects using urethane injection into the low-permeable ground in order to examine the mechanism of urethane injection spreading into void areas in the ground. A model ground built indoor was used to carry out the grouting experiment. Thus the injected area was examined after the grouting. The experiment results were compared with the past experiments into gravel and decomposed granite soil. The grouting effect into the low-permeable ground was characterized that the spreading pattern was like curtain. The urethane spreaded through the fractures of the low-permeable ground. On the other hand, the patters into gravel and decomposed granite soil were similar and formed balloon- type patterns. Further, three types of ground materials, clay, decomposed soil and gravel, were formed into interchangeably mixed strata in 6 cases. Thus the grouting effects, spreading forms the effectiveness, were observed in each case.
