Abstract
A rock mass classification using the fuzzy regression analysis has been proposed by the authors for granite tunnels. In the present report, the same method was used for slate and schist tunnels. Discussions on the adequacy in rock engineering, on characteristics of each rock at tunnel face and on the fuzziness in the proposed equations are mentioned. The 3 types of proposed equations show that each tunnel face must be classified individually because of the dependency of physical characteristics of each rock.
