Description

The purpose of this study was to develop a nutrition education program in health tourism, which contains evidence based health care and tourism. First, we assessed the dietary intake by the food frequency questionnaire method. Almost all people had not met the vegetable intake recommendation of 350g/day. We also surveyed on the relationship between type-I-allergy morbidity and vegetable intake. By questionnaire of 660 people, it was demonstrated that the vegetable intake of the people with allergy was significantly lower than that of healthy people. Second, we performed a participation-type program for promoting adequate vegetable intake. After nutrition education program, more than 90% of the participating children ate vegetables which they have never eaten. Their parents also learned the importance of the vegetable intake. Based on these results, we plan a participation-type nutrition education program in health tourism to recommend for adequate vegetable intake, and will assess the realization of program goal.
