Abstract
Distance education of two engineering subjects were given to students in two technology colleges by using a communication satellite.
This paper is a report by two of the college professors who lectured in the distance education subjects.
The following became clear in these lectures.
(1) The duplex communication system (satellite pedagogical network) is very effective to teach with.
Audio-visual apparatus which includes large sized screens and accessory equipment are also effective to teach with.
(2) Teachers and students can talk directly without hindrance. Writing on the blackboard is possible and useful in this system. When teachers show the article, they must present it in a three-dimensinal view.
(3) Contrary to prior opinion, this system is successful in teaching engineering subjects which are usually difficult in distance education.
(4) The students do not feel uncomfortable and they do not get overly tired with the lessons. They feel sense of intimacy with the distance teacher. Teachers are not over burdened and they do not tire so much during the lectures.
