Abstract

 As an approach to repair design after doing structural evaluation of pavement, based on FWD deflection values obtained in the field, a study on how to consider the effects of new AC mixes on the recovery of structure was conducted. Cores sampled from roller-compacted AC mixes in laboratory and those taken on expressways varying repair histories were subjected to resilient modulus and other testings to examine the characteristics of each mix type's elastic ratio. As a result, typical elastic ratios for each mix type were found under loading time and temperature of FWD measuring on the pavement whose structure is in a sound condition in case. A correlation was also confirmed between structural strength of combined AC layers calculated through resilient-modulus-based elastic ratios and FWD measurement-based structural index.
