説明
In this paper, a low frequency random signal generator using a flip-flop circuit triggered by random pulses is described and discussed theoretically. The random pulses are obtained from a thyratron fluctuating current noise. After amplifying the noise, its peaks exceeding over the reference level are picked up. They are again amplified and trigger the flip-flop circuit which gives a square wave random signal. It is then fed to a low-pass filter and its low frequency components are used as the final random output signal. Owing to the smoothing action of the low-pass filter, the amplitude distribution of the output signal may be regarded as a Gaussian. Various modes of the random signal are available, giving different power spectra according to the frequency charcteristics of the filter. The generator is easy to construct and useful for many purposes such as for servomechanism performance experiments.
