Abstract

This paper is a practical report of the learning support provided to 2 Filipino care worker candidates (hereinafter candidate) in their second year of work. The goal of the study is to acquire specialized care giving knowledge as well as the vocabulary that often appears in the careworker's national test. To achieve the goal, the Japanese language education supporters work closely together with the care giving supporters. However, both candidates could not achieve the goal "to acquire specialized care giving knowledge", and also the study support did not proceed as planned. Using the support records, this paper clarified the problems encountered with the learning support provided. Further, this report found that in order to provide a more effective assistance, it is necessary for candidates to acquire proficiency in the Japanese language prior to starting the specialized care giving study, to consider the study order based on difficulty for candidates, and to support for autonomous study by candidates.
