Upholstery fabrics vary in visual color according to the angle of incidence and angle of reflection. This article looks into the problem by varying these angles by applying an interference filter to goniophotometer.<BR>Change of color when these angles are varied have been investigated with the aid of this apparatus.In other words, if we measure the color of glossy articles in the direction of specular reflection, the color reflection reaches a light source color on the chromatic diagram. Even with less glossy goods, if the illuminating and viewing geometry angle varies, the reflected flux varies, resulting in a color difference.<BR>In case we make a color measurement of a glass-made high porosity curtain under directly transmitted light (flux), the color of the glass curtain nearly reaches the light source color on the chromatic diagram.<BR>In conclusion, to measure the color of upholstery fabrics the illuminating and viewing geometry angles have to be varied according to the purpose of color measurement.
