Description
Okukiyotsu No.2 Hydro Power Plant is designed as a pumped storage power plant with an effective head of 470m, maximum working water flow 154m3/s, and maximum output 600MW. The penstock is divided into the upper stage portion of excavation with diameter 6.60m, extension about 400m, and gradient 5ldegrees; and the lower with diameter 5.30m, extension about 260m, and gradient 51degrees. For the upper stage portion, a pilot shaft of 2.7m×2.7m was excavated with an Alimak Climber. For the lower, the raise drilling method was adopted. The pilot hole diameter was 270mm and the reaming hole diameter was 1470mm.
