Description
The hall floor type is known as the common model of group home. It is easy for the staff to watch elderly people with dementia, while the selection of places is limited and privacy is missing for the elderly people in some cases. On the other hand, non-hall floor type is surmised that there may be more opportunity of the place selections and more privacy from elderly people's viewpoint. This research evaluates daily behaviors of people with dementia and the staff in comparison with the hall type and the non-hall floor type. As the result, it was proved that the designed non-hall floor type creates more privacy for the elderly people and leads to more individual correspondence by the staff.
