Abstract

We report a case of drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome with severe stomatitis caused by allopurinol. A 82-year-old man had erythema involved the whole body and desquamation on his palms. His lips and buccal mucosa was erosive, his tongue became edematous and bled easily. Bloody desquamated epithelium adhered palatal mucosa, therefore, spontaneous pain and haphalgesia was severe. We used Mazulenin G® with 4%-Xylocaine®, mouthwash as symptomatic therapy, oral pain was controlled enough and ingestion intake was began relatively early.
