K-Series X-Ray Emission-Lines of Chromium in Several Compounds.

The Kα1, α2, β1 and β' lines of chromium were studied with the pure element and its compounds: Cr203, K2Cr2O7, (NH4)2Cr207, Cr2(SO4)3 and K2CrO4. Kβ' was clearly separated from the Kβ1 line only in the cases of Cr2O3 and Cr2(SO4)3. But the effect of chemical combination on the wave-length of the Kβ1 line was scarcely detected. On the contrary, however, the Kβ1 line was shifted toward the longer wave-length side and Kβ' was not separated for the remaining three compounds. There are described about the relationship between the behaviour of the Kβ' and the displacement of the Kβ1 line for the compouuds of Fe, Mn and Cr.
