Abstract

We have observed on several vessels that the ship hulls potential varies according as she is running or staying.<br>Such potential difference may be attributed to the fact that the propeller shaft and the ship hulls are insulated by the oil and water films on rubbing surfaces by shaft rotation.<br>According to the above fact, we are having some interest to apply the cathodic protection to propeller shaft system.
