An Inverse Problem of Coupled Thermal Stress in a Long Circular Cylinder

Description

This paper treats an inverse problem of transient thermoelasticity in a long circular cylinder taking into account the coupling term so as to determine the heating temperature of the outer medium under defined mechanical boundary conditions. In the present investigation, the Laplace transform is used, and the exact solutions for the heating temperature of the outer medium and for thermal stresses are obtained. The numerical results for the heating temperature and thermal stresses are shown in the figures.
