Abstract

Three Silurian orthoconic cephalopods are described from the G3 Member of the Yokokurayama Formation in the Kurosegawa Terrane. These are ; Kopaninoceras kobayashii, sp. nov., which marks the first record of this genus in Japan, Protokionoceras fessicancellatum Kobayashi, and Geisonoceratid, gen. et sp. indet. Conodonts associated with the cephalopod fauna indicate a late Wenlockian to early Ludlovian age.
