Description

A new pseudorthoceratid species, Geisonocerella nakazatoensis Niko, is described from the N3 Member of the Middle Devonian Nakazato Formation. This species is characterized by its weakly annulated large shell with elliptical cross section, deeply concaved septa, centrally located siphuncle, slightly suborthochoanitic septal necks and episeptal-mural cameral deposits.
