Abstract

Osaka Nanko Tunnel, Immersed-type tunnel, is now under construction in Osaka Bay Area. From the view point of shortning construction period and saving cost, steel-concrete composite-type structure has been adopted. Many experiments on the composite structure to evaluate its strength were performed. Additionally, regarding immersed tunnel elements, the design and construction method for controlling thermal cracks due to the heat of hydration described.
