Description

Among test methods determining the unit cement content of hardened concretes, the method proposed by the concrete committee F-18 of the Cement Association of Japan on the basis of the round-robin test on the Estimation of Mix Proportions of Hardened Concretes is well known, This method, however, uses a dilute hydrochloric acid and hence can not be applied to concretes with sea sand or limestone aggregate. The proposed test method is based on gluconic acid and capable of estimating the unit cement content of hardened concretes either with limestone aggregates or sea sand containing shells. Special attentions is paid for a widest possible use in popular research organizations. Outline of this test method and NDIS 3422 rulemaking are described.
