Description
Aluminum lakes were prepared by one step method which includes direct precipitation of the lake from a mixed solution of aluminum chloride and food dye (Tartrazine, Sunset Yellow FCF or Bril liant Blue FCF) through neutralization by a sodium hydroxide solution, without formation of the aluminum hydroxide substrate as in the usual (two step) method. <BR>The product by the one step method was excellent in brilliance and transparency as well as in the anti-eluting strength in NaCl solution, whereas the lake composition was almost the same as the product by the two step method. <BR>The lake process was extremely simplified and the yield was also improved by this new method.
