Abstract

The definition and standardization of terminology appeared in analytical processes are significant when constructing database of chemical compounds including analytical methods. From the standpoint of database designer, the terminology should be standardized and searching by controlled keywords is preferable. However, users prefer to choose uncontrolled terms as search words. This study listed up technical terms used in analytical processes and investigated synonyms. The authors designed the system in which the synonyms are recorded and when users enter free term, the system convert it to definite one.
