Description

Increasing use of electronic journals and entering of Google Scholar to the secondary information market give challenges to the traditional database producers and suppliers. High added value databases such as CAS and Web of Science plan further enhancements. Scopus, that follows Web of Science, focuses on research evaluation, and has introduced Citation Tracker, Author Identifier, and h-index. CSA Illumina has revealed CSA Illustrata that indexes figures and tables in original articles. Intermediary services of electronic journals such as Swets enhance services for libraries. Scientific publishers have worked together to offer Scitopia, a search gateway to their electronic journals.<br>
