抄録

Suppose there are two queuing ships A and B at right angles against each other and the former are proceeding independently of the latter. In this case, the latter must proceed avoiding collision. In this paper, the analyses concerning the waiting time or the frequency of ships' maneuvers for avoiding collision are made by replacing this sort of maneuvers by the case of the pedestrians' waiting time for crossing a road in traffic congestion. Besides, by pursuing the gap in the queue of ships' in which crossing is possible, the distribution of ships' waiting time is calculated by means of theoretical formula. The results thus obtained are found to be very close to those obtained by the actual observation.
