説明

The dead reckoning position is not necessary in the principle of positioning by the polar orbital satellite system EPIRB. On the other hand, the dead reckoning position is needed in algorithm of NNSS, and positioning accuracy is better than that in EPIRB. Therefore, the position was roughly estimated using the time of the closest approach method. Then, using this position as the dead reckoning position, positioning was performed with NNSS algorithm. As the result, in a high angle of elevation, positioning error became about 0.1 nm (90% probability) in the latitudinal direction and about 0.3 nm in the longitudinal direction by measurement time of 6 minutes. Whereas in a low angle of elevation, error circle became about 0.4 nm. Further, it was found that positioning error occurred mainly in the longitudinal direction when the transmission frequency varied.
