Description
The purpose of this study is to analyze the marine traffic on three major bays -Tokyo-wan, Ise-wan and Osaka-wan- and Kanmon-kaikyo by using AIS. We used the data over four weeks (2010/1/17〜2010/2/13). We used AIS receiver set up in each sea area to get AIS data. From the point of view on marine traffic analysis, We investigated the number of navigation ships, registry, length of ships, transit time on sea route and the transit speed. We also analyze the ship handling difficulty by using Environmental stress model. As a result we found as follows; 1. Mariner's catastrophic situations have usually happened in the sea routes established by Maritime Traffic Safety Law or Port Regulations Law. 2. Sea routes established by Port Regulations Law are more difficult to do the ship handling than the sea routes established by Maritime Traffic Safety Law. 3. Potential ship handling difficulty depends on ship handling environments. And moreover, traffic environment are primary factors when mariners can't accept the catastrophic situations.
