Abstract

A case of follicular cyst is reported. A 10 year old girl complained of swelling in the left mandible for month. Orthopantomography, CT scan and hematological studies were done, and a diagnosis of follicular cyst was made. The wall of the cyst in the oral cavity was incised, and the entire wall of the cyst with buried tooth was removed. Two methods of treatment of follicular cyst are currently being used. One is removing the whole wall of the follicular cyst with or without removal of the tooth. The other is only incision of the wall of the cyst. The best method is complete removal of the wall of the cyst, and if possible, without removal of the buried tooth.
