Description

Organization development (OD) has arguably been considered one of the confusing research and practice fields since the beginning of its history. Among researchers and practitioners in the field are misunderstandings and confusions, and the generic framework itself remains unclear.
It follows that engagement in building on the solid understanding of OD is indispensable. The paper utilizes diverse experiences of operating OD communities as well as reviews of published books and papers in academic periodicals so that a hypothetical perspective should come in the discussion.
Finally, all efforts in the paper converge into the thought, which is the ceaseless learning process between actions for a desired situation and reflections on a trapped cognitive framework. This hypothetical view could make it possible to comprehend the nature of OD.
