Description

This article reviews recent measuring methods for the corneal configuration. Conventional ophthalmometer (keratometer) and corneal topography devices based on the Placido principle, slit-scanning devices with optical tomography, and recent OCT (optical coherence tomography) devices are commonly used in ophthalmic clinics. For accurate measurement of the corneal configuration, the basic principles for accurate measurement as well as their pitfalls are also discussed in brief.
