Description
Forty four cases of hearing loss due to head trauma at Showa University Fujigaoka Hospital from June 1994 to January 2001. These diseases were 29 traumatic tympanic membrance perforation, two ossicular dislocation, seven traumatic fractures of the temporal bone, five of those complicated, and one conductive hearing loss after head trauma. Thirty seven cases underwent surgery,17 myringoplasty,19 tympanoplasty and one meatoplasty. The success rate was 36/39 (97%). Cases thought to require a surgical procedure should undergo the operation because of its effectiveness.
