Abstract

In this report, I summarise the information collection methods of general business trend and introduce two major information sources, namely the internet and paper documents. There are four major information types regarding business trend as below. (1) Market information, (2) Customer/consumer information, (3) Technology and R&D information, (4) Whole business trend information. Here I would especially like to emphasize the importance of "(4) Whole business trend information" and those who want to be a business information specialist should always watch what is happening in the business scene. For those who provide or manage business information, I strongly recommend to have the mind of enhancing "the ability of the selection of good quality information". In order to do so, checking the various information sources and understanding their characteristics are crucial.
