Abstract

Museums that deal with diverse objects in their collections need to organize and manage object information properly. Object information in museums has following characteristics: diversity of subject fields and materials, difficulty of extracting information from objects, uniqueness of all objects. In order to meet various requirements, international standards or guidelines for developing information systems have been proposed. Although scholarly research is needed to create precise catalog records, it is effective to create an environment in which museum staff can accumulate information without extra works. Organized collection information can be used for public service as well as internal work.
