Abstract

Game Informatics is one of research topics in information processing. Chess was the major game in game informatics about 50 years from 1950, in 1997 Deep Blue won the world champion Kasparov. Next to chess was shogi (Japanese chess). Computer shogi does not play against the world champion yet, but it will win if play. Go is very difficult for computers because its search space is much larger than chess's and shogi's. Recently computer go won against a professional player by application of deep learning. It will win against the world champion with several years. From now imperfect games such as Werewolf will become the target of game informatics.
