Description
Recently, we have developed a new and effective synthesis of 2,3-diphenylindenone derivatives by the reaction of 2-lithiotolane with N,N-dimethylbenzamides. The reaction provided several indenone derivatives bearing dimethylamino to cyano groups at p-position of 3-phenyl group. The indenone derivatives readily led to corresponding 10,10-dicyanobenzofulvenes by condensation reaction with malononitrile.
