Description

Macrocyclic oligomers consisted of ethynylpyridine units has been developed as artificial host molecules for saccharide recognition. They were synthesized through 4-butoxy-2,6-dibromopyridine as an intermediate, and repeating Sonogashira reaction and Glaser coupling gave the oligomers, which mainly include 9-mer and 12-mer from MS analyses. The 9-mer was examined its saccharide recognition abilities, and induced CD was observed by the addition of octyl glucoside.
