Description
We have already reported the synthesis, properties, and redox behavior of kinetically stabilized ferrocenyldiphosphenes as novel d-π electron conjugated systems containing main group elements. In this presentation, a novel bulky ferrocenyl unit was designed and synthesized for the purpose of the synthesis of a novel 1,2-bis(ferrocenyl)diphosphene derivative. As a result, 1,3-bis(3,5-dimethylphenyl)-2-iodoferrocene has been successfully synthesized as a novel ferrocenyl unit bearing bulky aryl groups at the 1,3-positions.We report here the attempted synthesis of the corresponding 1,2-bis(ferrocenyl)diphosphene bearing the novel ferrocenyl groups.
