Description
Two novel hetero-ring fused polycyclic aromatic compounds, naphtho[2,3-b:7,6-b']difuran and anthra[2,3-b:10,9-b']difuran, have been synthesized as followed: o-iodohydroxyarenes were protected by either acetyl or methyl group, followed by Sonogashira coupling to introduce alkynyl groups, and underwent deprotection and the following cyclization to give the target compounds. The electronic absorption and emission spectra and fluorescence quantum yielded of the obtained compounds will be shown.
