Abstract
In order to investigate the hydrodynamic interaction between the fore and the aft foils of the tandem hydrofoils, model tests of 3-D hydrofoils (aspect ratio 5.0) with NACA0012 wing section were carried out. We measured the lift and drag of the tandem hydrofoils using the combined plate springs with strain gauges. We make clear the effects of Froude number, stagger, gap and immersion on the lift and drag of the tandem hydrofoils.
