Description

For assessing human motor unit synchronization, we develop a novel synchronization index, β, using Joint Peri-Stimulus Time Histograms. In this paper, we discuss the dependence of the synchronization index on firing rates and the ability of temporal analysis using a spike model. We confirmed that the index β represents the synchronization state independently from firing rates, and that it also accurately traces event-related temporal modulation of synchronization.
