Description
Since it is well known that the internal damping of many materials is comparatively frequency independent, it is not easy to make an analysis model that can express such characteristics (called a hysteretic damping model) in the time domain. The author has proposed a practical causal model which satisfies the given frequency dependency approximately by limiting the considering frequency range. In this paper, nonlinear causal hysteretic damping model was proposed. It was applied to the soil response analysis and the response behavior was compared with the conventional model to confirm the efficiency of the proposed model. As the results, it was shown that the response of the proposed model almost corresponds to that of R-O model and the effects of element division for the model was less than that for R-O model.
