Description
A space antenna structure consisting of radial ribs and hoop cables were proposed for a large scale and highly precise structure. The reflector shape is stabilized by elastic deformed ribs by applying tension to the cables arranged in radial direction. The design problem is to obtain the rib structural dimension to minimizes the surface shape error. In addition, it is required to maintain the adjustability of the surface shape by adjusting the cable tension due to the manufacturing error.
The robust design problem is formulated as multi-objective robust optimization problem using the satisficing trade-off method.
Through numerical calculations using the partial structural model, the robustness of the Pareto solution is discussed.
