Abstract
Impulsive loads, such as an impact and explosion, cause serious damage to a structure. <br>The impulsive loads had unique factors, such as shortness of action time and locality of action.<br>The concept of the impulsive design loads are introduced.<br>The design loads due to impact are determined by dynamic analyses and numerical approach, and presented in the form of load-time (F-t) functions.<br>The design loads due to gas explosion incidents are determined by empirical/semi-empirical equations, and presented in the form of pressure-time (p-t) functions.
