Abstract
Gas-non-Newtonian liquids two-phase flows are seen in devices, such as chemical reactor. Nowday, these devices are downsized. Based on the literature survey, it is clear that little number of publications studied two-phase gas-non-Newtonian liquids flow in microchannels. Therefore, the objective of the present study is to investigate experimentally the gas-non-Newtonian liquids flow characteristics in a rectangular microchannel and compare it with gas-Newtonian liquid case. As non-Newtonian liquids, polyacrylamide aqueous solutions with different mass concentration, which exhibits pseudo plastic, were used. Data on flow pattern data, the bubble velocity, the bubble length and the two-phase pressure drop were obtained and analyzed.
