Abstract
Stay cables vibrate under wind and rain conditions, and this vibration is called the rain-wind induced vibration in general. This vibration must be caused by the upper water rivulet formation on a cable surface, the axial flow in the near wake, and the 3-D vortex shedding along the cable axis. However, the details of its mechanisms have not solved yet. In recent researches, it is often mentioned that the moving water rivulet plays an important role on the vibration. Therefore, in this study, the role of the moving water rivulet for the rain-wind induced vibration is investigated.
